There’s some seemingly-bad news on the recruiting grounds: Matthew Hurt has cancelled his in-home visits, including John Calipari and Kentucky’s, which was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Hurt’s father, Richard, told a local news station his son has shut down his recruitment – no colleges will make visits ahead of Sunday’s midnight recruiting deadline.
Hurt is set to make his decision this coming Friday, so this news certainly doesn’t bode well for Kentucky’s chances. Hurt is also being recruited by Duke, North Carolina and Kansas, but this announcement all-but-solidifies Coach K and the Blue Devils’ chances at landing the 5-star recruit.
