New head coach Josh Heupel has spent the last two weeks searching for a defensive coordinator. The transfer portal left the cupboard bare. Heupel’s uptempo offense makes the job even less attractive. The Vols’ offense will score points in a hurry, putting a ton of stress on their defense by giving them very little time on the sideline. It’s created the storm for a disastrous coaching search that would be hilarious from afar if it were more prestigious than simply filling a defensive coordinator vacancy.
