Mark Stoops on Missouri: “They beat us at our own game, and they did it decisively”

In recent years, the Kentucky football program has established a physical, tough-minded offensive identity that wins at the line of scrimmage and dominates the run game. Today, that script was flipped against Missouri, and – as head coach Mark Stoops clearly stated in his postgame presser – the Tigers beat them at their own game.

Offensively, Kentucky was limited to just 145 total yards, including 98 on the ground and 47 through the air. As for Missouri, they managed 421 total yards – 220 rushing and 201 passing – and dominated the time of possession 43:10-16:50.

“Offensively, we had way too many three-and-outs, just 36 plays to 92,” Stoops said.
