Early Friday morning storms swept across Western Kentucky, devastating the region, particularly the community of Mayfield. Rescue efforts from the EF-3 tornado are underway as authorities assess the extensive damage. Governor Andy Beshear said the death toll “may exceed 100 before the day is done.”
The Commonwealth is heartbroken. The Kentucky basketball team spent the morning praying for victims at the Grotto at Notre Dame. Meanwhile in Lexington, Mark Stoops’ Kentucky football program is sending well wishes to the western part of the state.
