There will no ‘MACtion’ this fall.
This morning, we learned from Brett McMurphy that we will not be seeing the Mid-American Conference playing football this fall. The MAC will not be playing football due to health concerns and the risk of the spread of the coronavirus.
The MAC is the first FBS conference to announce that they won’t be playing football this fall. It would not surprise me if we see more decisions like this. McMurphy also said in his release that heath reason weren’t the only cause of the cancellation. He said also it would be hard the conference to make the budget meet without the revenue from the non-conference games with the Power 5 schools, as most of those conferences have announced they won’t have non-conference games this fall.
