Kentucky’s wide receiver-turned-quarterback is out to make a statement in his final game, thanks to a few statements made by the Virginia Tech Hokies at a pre-Belk Bowl activity.
The incident between Bowden and a few Virginia Tech players at the Charlotte Motor Speedway was captured on video. At Monday morning’s Belk Bowl media day, Bowden did not add to the trash-talk, simply saying over and over, “I’m not talking about them.” Bowden would not deviate from the script. According to Kyle Tucker, those orders came from the head coach.
“Mark Stoops apparently told his team to stand down, stay composed, let it gnaw at them for a couple days, and ‘kick their ass on the field,'” Tucker reported.
