LSU starting safety Major Burns is OUT vs. Kentucky due to foot injury

Make that two starting defensive backs out for LSU on Saturday when the Tigers head to Lexington. Almost immediately after the school announced superstar cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. was out indefinitely, head coach Ed Orgeron confirmed starting safety Major Burns was also out.

Burns suffered a foot injury during LSU’s loss to Auburn and will miss “some time,” including the Tigers’ matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.

Orgeron announced the news during the SEC Teleconference on Wednesday.

Burns, who transferred to LSU from Georgia back in May, has recorded 25 total tackles (16 solo), two pass deflections and one interception in five games this season.
