Louisville is falling further behind Kentucky in recruiting athletes

As the University of Kentucky continues to spend more to recruit athletes in high-profile sports programs, the University of Louisville is preparing to spend less.

Kentucky spent $2.63 million more than Louisville in reported recruiting costs for men’s basketball, football, women’s basketball and baseball during the past five years dating back to the 2013-14 school year, according to figures obtained from each school by the Courier Journal.

And the gap between the schools is growing.
