Louisville and Kentucky will not play its yearly women's basketball game this season

Louisville women's basketball recently released its non-conference schedule for the 2020-21 season.

The Cardinals have the likes of perennial power UCONN on the schedule, Cincinnati, who's led by former U of L assistant and Western Kentucky head coach Michelle Clark-Heard, Conference USA's Middle Tennessee and in-state foes Eastern Kentucky and Bellarmine, who's set to begin its first year as a Division I program.

But there is one game noticeably missing.

The always-anticipated rivalry game between Louisville and Kentucky women's basketball won't happen this year, per U of L head coach Jeff Walz.

Walz, who handles all scheduling for his program, said he talked with Kentucky women's basketball operations coordinator Amy Tilley more than a month ago.
