Vince Tyra is out as Louisville’s athletic director, effective immediately.
On the same day University of Louisville President Dr. Neeli Bendapudi resigned and accepted a new offer to take over as President of Penn State University, the school received Tyra’s resignation letter, as well.
The letter is effective as of December 8th and has been accepted by the university, according to the Courier-Journal and WDRB.
An interim AD has not yet been named.
Tyra previously considered taking the Florida State athletic director job before reportedly turning down the offer.
