Kentucky handled its business in Game 1 of the 2025-26 season, beating Nicholls in the opener in Rupp Arena. The first half was ugly for both teams, but Kentucky found its offense in the second, pulling away for a 77-51 victory over the Colonels.

Collin Chandler was a big reason for the second-half surge. The sophomore scored 11 points in the second half on perfect 4-4 shooting, which came on three 3s and a highlight reel dunk, and four assists. Chandler’s 15 points in the game were the high for the Wildcats.

Otega Oweh joined him in double figures with 13, Jasper Johnson added 11, and Brandon Garrison had 10 as Kentucky shot 46.
