Ahead of Friday night’s Kroger KSR Game of the Week between Owensboro High School and Owensboro Catholic, Red Devils’ quarterback Gavin Wimsatt joined Kentucky Sports Radio to discuss the game and his ascendence through the recruiting rankings.
This summer 247 Sports ranked Wimsatt as the No. 37 player in America and the second-ranked dual-threat quarterback, the highest ranking by a passer from the Bluegrass since Tim Couch. His dramatic rise happened when he least expected it.
“It’s been fun to go through. It kind of happened over quarantine, really just posting a lot of workout videos and showing my progress.
