Linebacker Kash Daniel ready to take over Kentucky football starting job: 'It's my time'

LEXINGTON, Ky. – One of Kentucky football’s offseason position battles may be finished shortly after it began.

With former Wildcat Courtney Love playing almost every significant snap at “Mike” (middle) linebacker the last two seasons, the focus began to shift to which player would take over his starting job in 2018 during Kentucky’s December bowl practices.

Junior Kash Daniel, Love’s backup the last two seasons, was the obvious choice, but coaches were quick to list areas for improvement still needed from Daniel — namely his lateral quickness — and throw younger players like redshirt freshman Jamin Davis into the mix.
