It’s a bad March to be a No. 1 seed. A No. 1 seed will not win the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. That’s because for the first time since the NCAA Tournament began seeding teams in 1979, there will not be a No. 1 seed in the Elite Eight.

Miami overwhelmed Houston. The Canes punched their ticket to a second straight Elite Eight by controlling the game from start to finish in a 89-75 victory. In Louisville, the No. 1 overall seed Alabama couldn’t withstand a 23-5 second half surge from San Diego State, falling 71-64.
