Kentucky sprinter Carlie Makarawu was named a semifinalist for The Bowerman Award the USTFCCCA announced on Thursday.
Makarawu won two national titles in the 200 meters at the NCAA DI Indoor and Outdoor Championships. He posted a time of 19.84 seconds, which ranks as the second fastest time in the world this season. That time also broke the UK school record and the Zimbabwe national record for the 200m.
