Kentucky’s Big Blue Wall “made it fun to be an offensive lineman”

Offensive linemen have often been lovingly referred to as “the big uglies.” That still can be considered a backhanded compliment. With the help of homegrown stars, the University of Kentucky has propped up offensive linemen like never before.

I think we made it fun to be an offensive lineman,” offensive tackle Landon Young said on Wednesday’s edition of Kentucky Sports Radio.

Like Rome, the Big Blue Wall was not built overnight. It started when Young and Drake Jackson, two high school All-Americans from Central Kentucky, committed to UK. During their five years in Lexington Kentucky rushed for 13,524 yards and 139 touchdowns, paving the way for Benny Snell to set the school’s all-time rushing record and helping Lynn Bowden turn around the 2019 season at quarterback.
