Kentucky Women's Soccer Falls to Louisville in Penalty Kicks

For the second time this week, Kentucky suffered heartbreak in the city of Louisville. The UK women’s soccer team was eliminated in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament by the Cardinals in penalty kicks.

Kentucky broke a scoreless tie in the 47th minute when Thalia Morisi buried a ball in the back of the net. The Cats had multiple chances to extend that lead, but could not get another goal home. It looked like the Wildcats were going to survive and advance. The tide turned late.

Ameila Swinarski dribbled through traffic and scored an equalizer with only 11 minutes remaining in regulation.
