Kentucky womens basketball picked up its fifth consecutive loss against the undefeated No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks with a final score of 95-66.

The loss moves the Cats to 8-9 on the season while the team has still yet to find a victory in SEC play.

Despite the final score, the 29-point loss did not reflect the dominance felt by Kentucky in the first half. The Cats went on a 16-0 run early on which allowed the Wildcats to have a 9-point lead over Gamecocks.

Once the Gamecocks took back control, Kentucky’s energy carried on and the Cats were still able to stay on South Carolina’s toes for the majority of the game with huge contributions from Maddie Scherr and Jada Walker.
