Mark Pope left the podium for his postgame press conference following Kentucky‘s 99-85 win over Bellarmine on December 23 wishing Big Blue Nation a very Merry Christmas. Then he walked out to the Rupp Arena floor for his postgame radio show and handed out books commemorating his first season in Lexington, then t-shirts with $100 cash gift certificates. From there, he announced the entire team would stick around afterward and sign autographs for every fan in attendance after they filled the building for a 1 PM tip-off on a Tuesday just two days before Christmas.
