Once upon a time, Kevin Richardson walked through a crowded Commonwealth Stadium pressbox. “Wow, those are awesome.” I happily accepted the blog compliments from the Backstreet Boy, ignoring the fact that his comments were directed toward the shiny Kentucky helmets. Kentucky first rolled out the Chrome Domes against South Carolina in 2014. Aging like a fine wine, the chrome helmets will be back on display when the Wildcats host the Gamecocks Saturday night at Kroger Field.
The Wildcats are changing things up. In the first three non-conference games in Lexington, Kentucky exclusively wore blue helmets and blue jerseys with white pants.
