The Kentucky Wildcats basketball team will be debuting Nike’s new self-lacing shoe tonight against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The Wildcats will be the first collegiate team to wear them. If you need a refresher, these are a new type of shoe that Nike recently unveiled. You tighten the laces via an app on your phone, and the purpose is to give players a much more smoother fitting shoe, as shoe sizes do tend to fluctuate a small bit during a game.
It’s unclear if all of the Wildcats are wearing them or if it’s a select group of players.
