Kentucky Targets Two Lexington Talents

Two talented players from the greater Lexington area have captured the attention of Mark Stoops’ staff.

Last night DeAirious Smith revealed that Dean Hood has offered him the opportunity to be a preferred walk-on for the Wildcats next season. The 5’11” wide receiver from Lexington Christian Academy set a new school record by leading Class 2A in receiving yards with 1,671 yards and 20 touchdowns on 82 receptions.

For those who are unfamiliar with the term “preferred walk-ons,” the players are not given a scholarship right away but they are assured a spot on the roster.
