LEXINGTON, Ky. – One class of 2017 Kentucky basketball signee will play on the same team with a recent name added to Kentucky's list of targets at the Derby Festival Basketball Classic on April 15.
Illinois 2017 Mr. Basketball Mark Smith will play with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the Lightning team in the all-star game in Louisville at Freedom Hall.
Gilgeous-Alexander, a 6-5 guard from Chattanooga, Tennessee (Hamilton Heights Christian Academy) signed with Kentucky in November. Smith has recently become a hot name on the recruiting trail. The 6-5 four-star guard from Edwardsville, Illinois, received offers from Michigan State, Ohio State and others last month, and Kentucky reportedly visited him this week.
