Kentucky swim and dive suffers tough losses in Tennessee-Florida tri-meet

No. 19/25 Kentucky men’s and women’s swim and dive traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee, on Friday to face the No. 3/7 Florida Gators and the No. 6/6 Tennessee Volunteers for a tri-meet inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.

For the men’s team, the Cats were defeated 238-60 by the Vols and 239-58 by the Gators. For the women, the final tally was 228-72 Tennessee and 241-59 to Florida.

There were three podium finishes in the afternoon: sophomore Ryan Merani, junior Caroline Benda, and freshman diver Kristy Pfaff.

Merani shined for the Cats, taking the first NCAA “B Standard” time of the season for the team (1:45.
