Kentucky State head coach tonight against the second-ranked Kentucky Wildcats in Rupp Arena. That’s one hell of a debut, for anyone. How about that for a welcoming to a new career?
To put it in perspective, Williams will coach Kentucky State in front of about 1,000 fans in State’s home games in Frankfort’s Exum Center this season, and even fewer people when on the road. Last season, the Thorobreds played in front of a total of 22,240 fans in the entire regular season. Tonight, Rupp Arena will house close to that in a single exhibition game.
Needless to say, tonight will be a challenge for the rookie head coach.
