The University of Kentucky softball program hosted its annual media day on Wednesday afternoon at Kroger Field to preview the upcoming 2023 season.
Kentucky head coach Rachel Lawson, who is about to enter her 16th season in charge, spoke to reporters along with three veteran players: graduate student Kayla Kowalik, senior Rylea Smith, and junior Meeko Harrison.

Coach Lawson, the all-time winningest coach that the program has ever seen, was the first to take the podium.
First and foremost, she gave an opening statement and started by giving the media its flowers.
