Maximo Adams has opted for a different Blue Blood program.
On Friday afternoon, small forward Adams announced his commitment to North Carolina, choosing the Tar Heels over Kentucky, Michigan State, and Texas. The 6-foot-7 native of California is considered a four-star recruit and the No. 20 overall prospect from the 2026 recruiting cycle, per the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Adams took official visits to all four of his finalists, including a trip to Lexington back in September. He’s the younger brother of Marcus Adams Jr., who played for Kentucky head coach Mark Pope when the two were at BYU together during the 2023-24 season.
