Kentucky Football’s Record on Halloween

This year the Julian and lunar calendar align to create an extra spooky Halloween.

In 2020 All Hallow’s Eve will be lit by a full moon, a blue moon in fact, a rare lunar even notating the second full moon in one calendar month. It’s also on a Saturday night, the ideal day for trick-or-treaters, partiers and college football fans.

The last time America saw a blue moon on Halloween was 1944. It’s not that rare of an occurrence for a Kentucky football game.

Saturday’s matchup against No. 5 Georgia at Kroger Field will be the 13th time the Wildcats have played on Halloween since 1900 and the first such meeting since the Wildcats lost 52-21 to Tennessee in 2015.
