Kentucky football's Josh Allen named National Defensive Player of Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Hours after being named the best defensive player in the Southeastern Conference, University of Kentucky outside linebacker Josh Allen went a step further.

Tuesday night Allen was named the winner of the 2018 Bronco Nagurski Trophy, awarded by the Football Writers Association of America's All-America committee to the best defensive player in college football. Allen was presented the award at a banquet at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina.
