LEXINGTON - After being forced to play wide receiver Lynn Bowden at quarterback, Kentucky football's depth at the position has improved to the point where one backup is transferring.
Redshirt freshman Amani Gilmore is leaving the program now that UK's spring semester has ended, a source confirmed to the Courier Journal Friday. 247Sports first reported Thursday that Gilmore had entered his name into the transfer portal.
Gilmore appeared in one game last season while redshirting but did not attempt a pass.
