LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky football punter Matt Panton was arrested in Lexington Saturday night and charged with public intoxication, according to a report from the Lexington Herald-Leader.
A UK spokeswoman told Courier-Journal the athletics department is aware of the incident and will address it Monday.
Panton was booked into the Lexington jail after 1:30 a.m., Sunday, according to the Herald-Leader. UK lost to Ole Miss Saturday on a touchdown pass with five seconds remaining. Panton punted four times in the game.

A native of Melbourne, Australia, Panton joined the team as a graduate transfer from Columbia University in the summer.
