Former Kentucky Wildcats wide receiver/kick returner Derek Abney has been named to the Football Writers Association of America 75th Anniversary Team.
Abney, who finished his career breaking or tying seven NCAA records, was named the third-team kick returner on the team. The 5-10, 175-pound Abney played for the Wildcats from 2000-03 while earning first-team All-America honors as a junior and second-team All-America as a senior.
"I want to thank the Football Writers Association. It's a really nice honor to be considered one of the top returners of the past 75 years," Abney said in a press release.
