Kentucky football continues to add wide receivers to 2021 recruiting class

LEXINGTON - Adding impact talent at wide receiver has been a priority for Kentucky football in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

That focus paid off again Tuesday with a commitment from three-star Alabama prep wide receiver Christian Lewis. The Pleasant Grove High School star picked UK over reporter scholarship offers from Louisville, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Oregon, Nebraska, Indiana, Maryland, Iowa, Kansas, Georgia Tech and others.

Lewis told Rivals.com that Louisville and Texas A&M were his other top options but he had considered Kentucky the leader for months. Lewis caught 75 passes for 1,398 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior while helping lead Pleasant Grove to the Alabama 5A title game

With Lewis' commitment, UK's four highest-ranked commitments in the 2021 class are all wide receivers, according to the 247Sports Composite, which averages the ratings of the major recruiting services.
