Kentucky football adds former Penn State commit Tyreese Fearby to 2022 class

LEXINGTON - Kentucky football's less-than-impressive showing in a win over FCS Chattanooga Saturday was not enough to slow the program's recruiting momentum.

Four-star edge rusher Tyreese Fearby committed to Kentucky Saturday afternoon, shortly after the Wildcats' 28-23 win. A former Penn State commitment and Pittsburgh native, Fearby picked UK over Auburn, Pittsburgh and others.

The 247Sports Composite, which averages the ratings of the major recruiting services, ranks Fearby as the No. 12 edge rusher in the 2022 high school class. He is the fifth consensus four-star prospect to pledge to UK's 2022 class, joining Chartlestown offensive tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin, Johnson Central offensive lineman Grant Bingham and Nashville-area twins Destin and Keaten Wade.
