Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty will not run in the Preakness

Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty won’t run in the Preakness Stakes according to a press release from the company that runs Pimlico Race Course and the Preakness.

The move dashes hopes of a Triple Crown winner.

According to the announcement, the horse’s ownership will target the Belmont Stakes.
