The Kentucky basketball team begins its 2022-23 season Wednesday evening nearly 1,000 miles from Rupp Arena with an exhibition game against the Dominican Republic National Select Team in the Bahamas.
The Wildcats and the Dominicans are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. (SEC Network) inside a converted ballroom at the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau. Wednesday's exhibition is the first of UK's four-game Caribbean slate, which continues Thursday night against Mexico's Tec De Monterrey.
John Calipari will not coach the team during the trip, according to UK Athletics. Assistant Orlando Antigua will instead serve as acting head coach Wednesday night, and fellow staffers Chin Coleman, Bruiser Flint and K.
