LEXINGTON – As the No. 14 Kentucky women’s basketball team boarded the bus following their 81-71 win at Alabama Thursday, highlights from the game played on the bus' television.
And while those highlights focused on star Rhyne Howard’s record-tying 43 points, there was no shortage of joy displayed by her teammates about the recognition of the performance brought as well.
“Just the excitement on the bus of everyone really made me feel good,” UK coach Matthew Mitchell said. “It was a special, special time. It was a great individual performance from a statistical standpoint, but it was a great overall team effort.
