The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame on Wednesday announced that Haywood graduate Tony Delk would be a member of the 2020 induction class.
Delk played high school basketball at Haywood, where he won the Class AAA Mr. Basketball award in 1992 and was named a Parade All-American and McDonald's All-American.
"Somebody mentioned the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame a few years ago to me," Delk said in a phone interview Wednesday. "As we journey through life, we never really think about things that take place that we are removed from. It will set in more as we get closer to the date.
