If college football is played in 2020, Kentucky will receive the sport’s brightest spotlight when the SEC opens play Sept. 26.
Speculation swirled that the league would go big on opening weekend, pitting regional rivals against one another. Friend of KSR, Cole Cubelic, threw fuel on the fire by alluding to an opening weekend the had been “Ironed out,” leading many to believe Alabama and Auburn would open league play. Auburn will be in the weekend’s marquee matchup, just against another team — the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
The SEC’s opening week mantra is “bad football is better than no football.
