Keion Brooks Jr. still not practicing with contact, return remains uncertain

The clock keeps ticking, but the timeline’s not shrinking when it comes to Keion Brooks Jr.’s return to action.

Fighting through a tricky calf injury he suffered back in early October, the sophomore forward remains out of practice during contact drills. He’s still a loose participant and progressing ever-so-slightly, but his timeline for return remains uncertain.

“He’s in practice, but he’s not doing anything that’s contact yet,” UK head coach John Calipari said during his call-in radio show Monday evening. “I don’t want to say, but he’s in, he’s there, he’s leading. He’s involved in everything until we do contact stuff, then he’s not.
