Keion Brooks expected to miss first week of Kentucky basketball games

Kentucky will open its 2020-21 basketball season without its top returning contributor.

“Keion, I do not believe he will be here the first week,” John Calipari said Monday morning.

Keion Brooks has been in and out of preseason practices, nursing a lower leg/calf injury. The night of UK Pro Day was the first time the sophomore forward had participated in full-court drills this fall. He has not yet gone through live five-on-five scrimmages.

Without Brooks available in the Bluegrass Showcase, Isaiah Jackson is expected to make his highly anticipated debut in the starting lineup. One of the most talked about players in the preseason, the hype surrounding Jackson only grew when he did this at Big Blue Madness.
