Jon Sumrall will be Troy’s next head football coach.
Late Wednesday night the school officially announced the hiring of Sumrall, a former Kentucky linebacker and assistant defensive coordinator. He’ll be introduced to Troy football fans at a press conference Monday morning.
Sumrall previously served as an assistant at Troy with another former Wildcat, Neal Brown. A Huntsville native, Sumrall spent the last three seasons on Mark Stoops’ Kentucky coaching staff.
“Jon Sumrall exceeded all the criteria we had when searching for a new leader for our football program,” said Brent Jones, Troy director of athletics.
