LEXINGTON — Throughout his Kentucky basketball tenure, John Calipari’s blueprint for mapping out a season has been clear.
There are generally bumps along the road early as he melds a group of young players. During the break between semesters when Calipari is afforded unlimited practice time, the team’s positive strides start to become evident. Even if the team’s run through SEC play is not dominant, it generally is strong enough to finish among the top handful of teams in the league.
Then just in time for the NCAA Tournament, Calipari’s Kentucky teams tend to start playing their best basketball.
