LEXINGTON — The Kentucky basketball team brought heavy hearts to Tuesday's face off with Alabama for first place in the Southeastern Conference.
UK players and coaches learned Tuesday morning that former walk-on forward Ben Jordan had died. Five of the current Wildcats played alongside Jordan a year ago when he joined the basketball team from the UK baseball program to provide extra practice depth in the frontcourt.
"I think it’s been pretty emotional just around the guys that actually were around him last year," redshirt freshman guard Dontaie Allen said. "... Everybody is just trying to get through it together and just trying to uplift everybody.
