John Calipari was back on the recruiting trail yesterday. Cal and Chin Coleman spent Monday at the Hoophall East/Slam Dunk It To The Beach tournament in Lewes, Delaware watching 2023 stars D.J. Wagner (Camden), Mookie Cook (AZ Compass Prep), and Kylan Boswell (AZ Compass Prep).
DJ Wagner, of course, is the son of Dajuan Wagner, who played for Calipari at Memphis before being drafted No. 6 in the 2002 NBA Draft. The younger Wagner is the No. 1 player in the 2023 class according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
