LEXINGTON, Ky. — Louisville native Jared Casey was one of five freshmen included on Kentucky's week one two-deep depth chart released in advance of the 2019 season opener Monday.
Casey, who graduated from Ballard a semester early to enroll at UK in January and participate in spring practice, was listed as Jamar "Boogie" Watson's backup at strongside linebacker. That inclusion suggests Casey will play this season and not redshirt, but it should be noted defensive coordinator Brad White did not include Casey in the group of three outside linebackers he felt were ready to help Kentucky win games last week.
