Jager Burton will begin his Kentucky career at offensive guard

Kentucky’s top-ranked signee from the 2021 recruiting class is beginning his college career playing a different position.

Jager Burton spent his prep career at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington playing offensive tackle. An early enrollee, new offensive line coach Eric Wolford is breaking in Burton as an offensive guard, the position most recruiting services projected him to play, ranked as the No. 10 OG in America according to the 247 Sports Composite. Even though they’ve only worked together in meetings, Coach Wolf has already made a lasting impression on Burton.

“He’s my kind of favorite coaching style,” Burton said.
