Jacksonville State University has suffered serious damage from a violent tornado that ripped through campus earlier tonight.
Here is an update from the schools athletic director:
Thanks for all the calls, texts and emails and we do have extensive damage in Jacksonville. I can confirm we have major roof damage at Pete Mathews Coliseum, but The Pete is not completely destroyed. We have staff on site and will update as soon as possible.
What was likely a tornado hit Jacksonville, AL this evening reportedly causing considerable damage on the campus of Jacksonville State University.
