'It’s like having a unicorn': Why Selah Brown is the best defensive prospect in his class

The first high school football game Selah Brown ever started was Dec. 1, 2018, in the state championship game as a freshman. He lined up opposite of Scott County’s offensive lineman Bryan Hudson, a four-star recruit who started 10 of 11 games as a freshman last year at Virginia Tech.

“I can forever say that my first ever start in high school was a state championship game,” Brown said. “For me to be in a college stadium and have that be my first start in the biggest game of the year was crazy to me.”

Less than five months after the Male Bulldogs clinched the 2018 state title, what Brown called “a beginning of a big stepping stone” developed.
