John Calipari’s U19 USA team is moving onto the FIBA World Cup semifinal after defeating Germany 81-59. Their opponent is one of the other top teams in the event, the Canadian National Team.
The Canadians finished second in their group during preliminary play, and then breezed past Angola to open up the Round of 16. However, the defeated France by just six points in the quarterfinal. They’ll be led by Canadian standout R.J. Barrett, who’s averaging 19 points per game, and Abu Kigab, who’s averaging 11.6 rebounds per game.
Calipari’s team has obliterated every team they’ve played en route to the semifinal.
